AI assistance and optional speech or image reading
AI assistance uses published records, your selected city and interests, and privately hosted text inference. Search-demand metrics retain city, day and category totals for up to 90 days, without raw questions or user identifiers. Feedback you submit includes your question and correction for staff review; it does not automatically train a model. Public topic summaries require at least five distinct contributors per topic. Speech starts only after you tap Speak and uses browser or device services, which may process audio through their provider; audio is not uploaded to URPulse. Image text reading requires explicit consent and sends your approved image to Google Vision. Avoid private documents and sensitive images. AI can make mistakes; check original records and sources.
Information we collect
We may collect account and profile details, content you submit, event and business information, support communications, device and notification identifiers, location when you grant permission, and technical information needed to operate and protect URPulse.
How we use information
We use information to provide city and neighbourhood features, show relevant local content, operate accounts and notifications, moderate content, prevent abuse, provide support, improve reliability, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Location information
Location access is permission-based. URPulse can use your selected Home City and, when permitted, device location to improve nearby results. You can change device location permission through your operating-system settings.
Sharing and providers
We may use service providers for hosting, authentication, notifications, maps, media moderation and other operational functions. We do not sell personal information. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect users, URPulse or the public.
Retention, security and choices
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service; no system can guarantee absolute security. Retention depends on the information, operational needs and legal requirements. Account, notification, profile and permission choices are available in URPulse or device settings.
Account deletion
Delete your URPulse account and associated data through Settings → Delete account in the app or at urpulse.ca/account-deletion after verifying ownership. If you cannot sign in, the public page also offers a help request. The account deletion page explains live-data removal and the current limits on retained records and backup purge periods.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as URPulse evolves. The current version and effective date will be published here. Material changes may also be communicated through the service when appropriate.
